Birmingham City and Coventry City Track Serbian Wonderkid Vasilije Kostov
Birmingham City and Coventry City are reportedly monitoring Red Star Belgrade attacking midfielder Vasilije Kostov, as interest continues to grow in one of Serbia’s most promising young talents.
The 18-year-old has attracted attention from clubs across Europe, with his performances putting him on the radar of several teams in England and beyond. According to reports cited by Ontheminute.com, Coventry are following his development closely, with the teenager understood to be among the club’s wider list of transfer targets.
Birmingham City, meanwhile, are also keeping tabs on the attacking midfielder as they assess potential additions for the future.
Red Star Belgrade Set a €20m Asking Price
Red Star Belgrade are in no rush to sell Kostov, who remains under contract until 2028. The Serbian club are determined to protect their investment in a player whose reputation has grown considerably over the past year.
Club general manager Zvezdan Terzić previously stated in June that Red Star would not sell Kostov for less than €20 million.
However, that valuation has not stopped other major clubs from being linked with a move. AC Milan, Inter Milan, Monaco and Arsenal have all reportedly shown interest in the youngster.
Reports in March 2026 claimed that Arsenal had seen a €20 million offer rejected, while Monaco were linked with a potential €10 million bid in September.
Kostov Attracts Growing European Interest
Kostov has already earned four caps for Serbia, underlining the rapid progress he has made despite his young age. His current market value is listed at €25 million by Transfermarkt, although Red Star’s actual asking price and the terms of any future deal could differ.
With Birmingham and Coventry now reportedly monitoring his situation, the Serbian teenager could remain a name to watch as clubs consider their future recruitment plans.
For now, Red Star retain control of the situation through Kostov’s contract, and any interested club may need to meet the Serbian side’s valuation to have a chance of securing his signature.
