Perth Glory Sign Jay O’Shea for the Remainder of the 2026/27 Season
Perth Glory have officially signed experienced midfielder Jay O’Shea for the remainder of the 2026/27 A-League Men season following his departure from Brisbane Roar.
The 38-year-old arrives in Perth after spending the last seven seasons with Brisbane, where he established himself as one of the club’s most influential players. O’Shea made almost 200 A-League appearances for the Roar, recording 31 goals and 36 assists during his time at the club.
His contributions were recognised with numerous individual honours. He was named Brisbane Roar’s Player of the Year twice and received the club’s Players’ Player of the Year award on six occasions. He was also selected for the A-League All-Stars team twice.
O’Shea Brings Extensive Experience to Perth
O’Shea began his career in Ireland before moving to England in 2009 to join Birmingham City. He went on to feature for several English clubs, including Middlesbrough, Sheffield United, MK Dons, Chesterfield and Bury, making more than 300 appearances across competitions in English football.
The former Republic of Ireland youth international subsequently moved to Australia, where his performances with Brisbane Roar made him a key figure in the A-League.
Now preparing for a new challenge with Perth Glory, O’Shea is eager to begin the next chapter of his career.
“I’m really looking forward to starting this new chapter with Perth Glory,” O’Shea said.
His arrival adds considerable experience and creativity to Perth Glory’s midfield as the club looks to strengthen its squad for the remainder of the 2026/27 campaign.
