Leeds United Among Premier League Clubs Scouting Tommy Lonergan
Leeds United are keeping a close eye on Republic of Ireland Under-21 forward Tommy Lonergan, with several Premier League clubs monitoring his progress ahead of the January transfer window.
According to TEAMtalk, Leeds were among the clubs represented at Ireland’s 3-1 victory over England Under-21s in Cork on October 6. Sunderland, Everton, Brentford and Brighton also had scouts in attendance to assess the young forward.
Lonergan made a major impression on the night, scoring twice as Ireland secured an impressive win. The 22-year-old has also been in strong form for Waterford, scoring 15 goals during 2026.
The striker previously played for Fleetwood Town before returning to Ireland in 2025. His performances since then have attracted growing interest from English clubs, with Championship sides also understood to be tracking him.
With the January transfer window approaching, Lonergan could emerge as a player to watch as clubs assess potential attacking reinforcements. However, no agreement or formal offer has been reported at this stage.
