Real Madrid Prepare January Move for Crystal Palace Midfielder Adam Wharton

Real Madrid are reportedly preparing to open formal talks over a potential January move for Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton, according to Spanish outlet Fichajes.

The Spanish giants are said to be considering an approach ahead of the winter transfer window, with discussions potentially taking place soon as they explore the possibility of bringing the England international to the Santiago Bernabéu.

However, any deal could prove expensive, with Wharton reportedly valued at up to €100 million.

Real Madrid Step Up Interest in Wharton

Wharton has attracted attention for his midfield qualities, and Real Madrid are reportedly assessing whether to pursue him during the January transfer window.

According to Fichajes, the club are preparing to move beyond monitoring the situation and explore the conditions required to reach an agreement with Crystal Palace. Formal talks have not yet been confirmed, and there is no indication that a deal is close.

Crystal Palace Could Demand €100 Million

The reported €100 million valuation would make Wharton a major investment for Real Madrid. Crystal Palace would also have to decide whether they are willing to part with the midfielder midway through the season.

A January transfer could therefore depend on Madrid’s willingness to meet Palace’s demands and the English club’s stance on losing an important player.

For now, the reported interest remains a developing transfer story, with further clarity expected if negotiations begin ahead of the winter window.
