Barcelona Join Race for Inter Milan Midfielder Andy Diouf
Barcelona have reportedly joined the race to sign Inter Milan midfielder Andy Diouf, who is attracting interest from several major European clubs following his performances in Italy.
According to CaughtOffside, Barcelona are among four clubs monitoring the 23-year-old Frenchman, alongside Chelsea, Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain. However, Inter are not expected to make his departure straightforward, with the Italian club keen to retain a player who has become an important part of their midfield.
Inter Milan Could Demand €50-60 Million
Inter invested around €20 million to sign Diouf just over a year ago and are reportedly in a strong position to demand a significantly higher fee.
The report suggests that an offer in the region of €50 million to €60 million would be needed to open negotiations. Such a valuation could complicate matters for Barcelona and the other interested clubs, although no formal bids have been confirmed.
Diouf’s Qualities Attract Europe’s Top Clubs
Diouf has attracted attention for his physical strength, technical ability and willingness to drive forward with the ball. His confidence in one-on-one situations has also been highlighted by Inter head coach Cristian Chivu, who recently praised the midfielder’s personality and approach to individual duels in comments reported by Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Frenchman is reportedly not expected to leave during the January transfer window. Instead, if his progress continues, the summer market could provide a more realistic opportunity for interested clubs to pursue a deal.
For Barcelona, Chelsea, Arsenal and PSG, any move would depend on whether they are prepared to meet Inter’s financial demands. For now, the reported interest remains at the monitoring stage, with no agreement or formal negotiations confirmed.
