Chelsea and Liverpool Eye Alex Scott as Bournemouth Consider January Offers

AFC Bournemouth could face renewed interest in Alex Scott during the January transfer window, with Chelsea still monitoring the midfielder and Liverpool having shown interest previously.

According to reports, Bournemouth’s position may have shifted following discussions with the player’s representatives. The club rejected approaches during the summer, but a significant proposal could prompt them to reconsider in January.

Chelsea remain involved in the race, while Liverpool were also keen on Scott in July. The reported valuation is expected to exceed £100 million, with the BBC cited as the source for the potential price tag.

What It Means

Bournemouth could face a major decision if a substantial offer arrives in January. Scott has attracted interest from clubs looking to strengthen their midfield, but Bournemouth are not obliged to sell and any deal would depend on the terms offered.

A fee above £100 million would represent a significant investment for either Chelsea or Liverpool. At this stage, however, interest should not be mistaken for an agreement or a formal bid.

Background

Scott joined Bournemouth from Bristol City in 2023 after emerging as one of the Championship’s highly rated young midfielders. He has since continued his development in the Premier League.

His versatility and ability to contribute in midfield have made him an attractive option for clubs seeking young, technically capable players.

What Happens Next

Attention will turn to whether Chelsea or Liverpool make a concrete move ahead of the January window. Bournemouth’s response to any proposal, alongside the player’s own position, will help determine whether a transfer becomes realistic.

For now, Scott remains a Bournemouth player, and any potential January departure remains dependent on a sufficiently attractive offer.
