Napoli Consider Mohamed Ali Zoma as Alternative to Varela, with Cacciamani Targeted for Summer

Napoli are continuing to explore their options ahead of the January transfer window, with Mohamed Ali Zoma emerging as another attacking target alongside Monza’s Varela.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, journalist Niccolò Ceccarini reports that the Serie A champions are looking to strengthen two areas of their squad in January, with one potential addition in midfield and another in attack. The club are also assessing possible departures for players who no longer fit into their plans.

Much of Napoli’s attacking transfer activity could depend on Lorenzo Lucca’s future. His potential departure would create room for another forward, particularly as the club look to add more goals alongside Rasmus Højlund.

Zoma Joins Varela on Napoli’s Shortlist

Varela is currently Napoli’s leading attacking target, but negotiations could depend on Monza’s financial demands and their desire to retain an important player during their fight for survival.

As a result, Napoli are also considering alternatives, with Mohamed Ali Zoma of Nürnberg among the names attracting attention.

The 2003-born attacker is highly regarded for his technical qualities and athletic ability, making him an interesting option for the Italian side as they assess their January recruitment plans.

Napoli are therefore keeping multiple possibilities open rather than focusing exclusively on Varela, although any move will depend on how their squad situation develops over the coming months.

Lang’s Future Could Open the Door for Cacciamani

Another player whose future could influence Napoli’s transfer strategy is Noa Lang. The Dutch winger was linked with a possible departure during the previous transfer window, but no suitable offer arrived.

According to TMW, Ajax and PSV have recently shown interest in Lang, while Napoli would prefer a permanent transfer rather than a temporary arrangement.

Should the club manage to sell the winger, they could consider making another attempt to sign Cacciamani, a player they had already explored during the summer.

However, a January move for the Torino talent is considered practically impossible. Torino reportedly value him at more than €40 million and are reluctant to lose him midway through the season.

Napoli Could Revisit Cacciamani in June

While a winter transfer appears unlikely, the situation could be different next summer. Napoli could return to the negotiating table in June if they decide to pursue Cacciamani as part of their attacking rebuild.

For now, the club’s immediate priorities remain finding reinforcements for January and deciding which players could leave. Varela and Zoma are both under consideration for the attack, while Cacciamani remains a potential option for the summer transfer window.

Much will depend on the futures of Lucca and Lang, with Napoli’s outgoing business potentially determining how ambitious they can be in the market.
